Osaka University, the only national comprehensive university in Japan with a School of Foreign Studies, offers “Special Foreign Language Courses” as part of its liberal arts curriculum. These courses provide students with opportunities to learn a wide range of languages from around the world, with a focus on Asia, in addition to conventional subjects such as English and various second foreign languages (German, French, Chinese, Russian, Korean, Italian, and Spanish). All courses are taught by full-time faculty members specialized in high-level education for each respective language at the School of Foreign Studies.
